Senate Action this Week – Fifteen of nineteen state employee contracts were ratified this week by the Unions and the Legislature. As a result of the contract negotiations, nearly 25 million dollars from the state employee compensation reserves will be returned to the general fund to support state highways, programs, and schools. The contracts ratified deferred raises that were negotiated last year in recognition of the state’s financial crisis. There are four outstanding state employee union contracts.
