Action Against “Do Not Call” list Violators Taken by Department of Justice – The  Wisconsin Department of Justice has commenced a lawsuit against Arizona-based Preferred Readers Service, Inc. (“Preferred Readers”), for allegedly violating the state’s Deceptive Advertising and No Call laws.  According to consumer complaints filed with the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), Preferred Readers called consumers’ homes several times a day for weeks or months at a time, hanging up when consumers requested caller identification.  Consumers also complained that Preferred Readers accepted payments to authorize periodical renewals, but never ordered renewal and did not have the authority to do so.
