Erpenbach “Not to Worry” About Healthy Wisconsin Assembly Hearing?
Madison – Legislative courtesy or full information are apparently not needed at an Assembly hearing. Representative Leah Vukmir responded negatively to a request from Healthy Wisconsin author Senator Jon Erpenbach to speak at an Assembly hearing on the proposal. When Erpenbach requested to speak, Vukmir responded that Erpenbach should “not worry” about the hearing.
“It is disappointing that a committee chair would throw aside Legislative courtesy for personal agenda. Moves like this don’t serve the people of Wisconsin. In reality, this is not a hearing on Healthy Wisconsin, it is a media opportunity for a committee chair to have out of state people support the agenda she has sold throughout the state,” said Senator Erpenbach.
“The Representative’s beliefs about giving the Wisconsin people an opportunity to the same health care she currently enjoys are clear. Her opposition to Healthy Wisconsin and support for the status quo are well noted,” concluded Erpenbach.
