University Honors Distinguished Work in Psychology, History
Madison – State Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton) congratulated two local University of Wisconsin-Madison students being honored for the exceptional work in History and Psychology.
Marissa B. Esser of Middleton won the Uehling Award for her research work in psychology and Patrick W. Kelly of Madison received Paul J. Schrag prize for his essay on German-Jewish history.
“I congratulate Marissa and Patrick and their families for these impressive awards,” said Erpenbach. “I commend their hard work I will continue to fight in the State Senate so students throughout the 27th Senate District can afford university and technical college education.”
Esser was awarded the Uehling prize for research into the psychology of sexist language while under the influence of alcohol. Kelly’s honors were based on his essay “The Politics of Tragedy: Anglo-American Foreign Policy and the Jewish Refugee, 1945-1948.”
