Madison ….. Senator Dale Schultz has some tips to keep summer time driving safe and fun.
Schultz is offering a state road map at no cost to residents of the district he represents in Grant, Sauk, Iowa, Lafayette, Juneau, Richland and Monroe Counties. To request a map, send Schultz an email at sen.schultz@legis.wi.gov or call his office, 800.978.8008.
You can avoid road construction work zones with the help of a brochure called ‘Travel Easy’ just published by the state transportation department. The brochure is free by calling 800-242-2514 or access the brochure on the web at www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/traveleasy/doc/state-map.pdf
For a fun drive, Schultz recommends the Merrimac Ferry and the Cassville Ferry. Both ferry boats carry cars, small trucks, bikes and pedestrians. The Merrimac crosses the Wisconsin River on WIS 113. The Cassville Ferry crosses the Mississippi, connecting the Great River Road National Scenic Byway with the Iowa Great River Road National Scenic Byway.
