Schultz in Richland Center, Platteville, and Lancaster on Friday, May 9

Madison - Senator Dale Schultz will be in Richland Center, Platteville, Lancaster and then back to Platteville on Friday, May 9, 2008. Dale welcomes community members to join him at stops during the day.

Dale will start out in Richland Center with a listening session at Papa’s Donuts from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. Papa's Donuts, located at 101 S. Church St, is owned by Larry & Doreen Komarek.

Dale will be at the Richland County Courthouse from 8:15 - 9:00 to meet with Harriet Pedley, the County Zoning Administrator. They will discuss needs for improved communication by the federal emergency management administration following disasters, and other issues.

In Platteville, Schultz will be at the Platteville Business Incubator starting at 10:00. He will help celebrate on-going expansion of the Platteville-based Avista Corporation, a leader in cockpit software for the aviation industry. The firm has run out of room at its headquarters facility and is expanding into the business incubator for the time-being.

From 11:00 to 11:45 Schultz will meet with other local entrepreneurs in the Platteville Business Incubator. The recent start-up business of UW-Platteville student Adam Wiegmann, 4X Innovations (Four by Innovations), sells Truck after-market equipment [http://www.4xinnovations.com/]. Other incubator businesses include Delta 3, started by engineer consultants Scot Chyko, Dan Dreesens & Bart Nies; Applied Micro, started by Kip Schreck to provide computer network and phone system services, and L&M Corrugated Containers.

Schultz will be available to meet with community members over the lunch hour from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at Carson's Café, 140 McGregor Plaza in Platteville.

In Lancaster, starting at 1:30, Schultz will participate in the grand opening event of Woolwich Dairy, 425 Roosevelt St. Schultz will be thanking Woolwich owners Tony and Olga Dutra for choosing Wisconsin as their first expansion site outside Canada to make premier cheeses and other dairy products with goat milk.

While in Lancaster, Schultz will meet with new county board chair John Patcle from 3:15 to 4:00. Then, from 4:15 to 5:00, Dale will be at Southwest Opportunities Center to meet with Audrey Johnston. Southwest Opportunities Center, located at 1600 Industrial Park Road, employs community members with disabilities.

Schultz will end his day back in Platteville, helping raise funds for high school scholarships at a catfish dinner. Schultz said the catfish will be served from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Masonic Lodge, on highway 80 across from Farm and Fleet.
