Areas Legislators Seek Support for Dam Repairs


Madison … Senator Dale Schultz is concerned about public safety when an aging dam fails. At a Capitol hearing this week, Schultz called on the federal government to join state and local government to make dam safety a higher priority. Speaking at the Assembly Rural Affairs Committee, Schultz called for bipartisan support for funding to assure the safety of aging dams across Wisconsin.

Schultz knows the states tight fiscal picture makes it difficult to advocate more funding for infrastructure, but thanked Committee Chairman Lee Nerison for raising awareness of the issue.
