Robson, Hixson Statements on Chromalox/Ogden Manufacturing Plant Closings

Rep. Kim Hixson issued the following statement:

“My thoughts are with the workers whose lives are turned upside down by these plant closings.  Sen. Robson and I will be in regular contact with the Department of Workforce Development to make sure the workers receive all the assistance that is available to them.  These workers deserve the same level of assistance as the displaced workers in Janesville are receiving.  We have been informed that an information-gathering meeting has been scheduled for next Wednesday between Chromalox administrators in Pittsburgh and state and local workforce development staff.”

Sen. Judy Robson said:

“It is never pleasant for a community to lose a good employer.  DWD will work with the company and the regional Workforce Development Board to determine the needs of the workers as far as unemployment insurance and worker retraining. The downturn in the economy will result in hardships on many families.  Rep. Hixson and I will do what we can to ease those hardships, while continuing our work to bring new family-supporting jobs to our communities through a variety of economic development initiatives.”
