State Budget – What Do You Think?

Over the past few months, we have discussed many of the various fiscal and policy-related items in Governor Jim Doyle’s 2009-11 state budget plan. As you know, the Joint Committee on Finance (JCF) has now given its stamp of approval to the proposal – adding a number of its own ideas and changes. Now, as I prepare for a vote on the document, I would like your input on a number of the key provisions Governor Doyle and the Democrats, who control the budget process, have placed into their version of the budget.

Please indicate “S” if you support the provision, “O” if you oppose it or “U” if you are undecided.

Again, these are some of the priority items that Governor Doyle and the Democrats in the legislature have included in their version of the state budget.  Your input on these items will be helpful as I prepare to cast my vote.

Based on the unknown timing of the final vote, it is important that you return my 2009 Budget Survey as quickly as possible.  Simply clip the survey and return your answers to me at P.O. Box 7882, Madison, WI 53707-7882.  You may also fill out the survey online at www.leibhamsenate.com or e-mail your answers to Sen.Leibham@legis.wi.gov.

As always, it has been a pleasure communicating with you.  Please remember to communicate with me and share your budget input as soon as possible.  I look forward to hearing from you!

It is an honor representing the residents of the 9th District in the State Senate.
